Here are some of my thoughts on the costs of working from home……

 Many people are looking to work from home in today’s atmosphere of economic uncertainty and rising transport costs, as it can offer flexability and improved quality of life.

Can you work from home with no investment? You certainly can, if you simply want to end up with another job. Many menial tasks can be done from home, often at poor wage levels.

 To earn a larger amount of money working at home, it will probably be necessary to make some monetary investment. If you work as a freelance writer or provide office or secretarial services, the minimum requirements would be a home computer and internet connection. This will be well worth the money you spend, as you will be able to greatly increase your productivity, and set your own income levels.

Of course, the ultimate home business is one in which you set up your business in such a way that over time you can develop ongoing or residual income. At this stage, your income is no longer dependant on your working set hours each week. You will still need to keep your business running, but now you can devote more time to the things that really matter to you.

So is it possible to work from home with no investment? The honest answer is: if you want to make a small amount of money - yes.  However, to develop a large, ongoing income, you will have to make a small investment, both in terms of money, and also your time. 

Look at it as an investment, rather than a cost. If planned carefully, your small investment can build over time to set you up financially for life. Wouldn’t that be worth it, no matter what the cost?

I know my answer to that last question!!
