When designing your website there are two main areas to consider:

a.  make it easy and pleasant for visitors to use - “user friendly”

b.  make it easy for search engines to find and rank - “search engine friendly”

To make it search engine friendly, you first need to learn what search engines like, study search engine optimization, and then use this knowledge when designing your site. Concentrate on various things, including the layout and design, as well as the keyword phrases that you target.

Here are a few tips on how you can do that to make that happen.

1. The first thing to consider is the length of time you register your domain name for. Search engines like to see domain names that are registered for two years or longer at a time.

Anyone using a blog on a consistant basis to help their internet marketing business will see a dramatic increase in traffic when compared to those people who don’t blog.

 With this in mind, you would think that everybody would be doing this. But for many people, there are some common reasons why they don’t blog regularly. So if we can get you set up with a simple system, it should take away all your excuses, and let you blog simply and effectively!

 1.  If you have difficulty coming up with content for your blog, use some of the many excellent providers of private label articles. You really only need a post of 250 words, and these can be bought at very reasonable prices.

Buy the articles in a group of say 10-15, and just add one every 2-3 days to your site.

2.  Add content to your blog at a rate you decide for yourself. Ideally, you would set a goal to write a post three times a week. In the early stages of blogging, people can go a bit crazy, and post every day. That is fine if you can maintain that pace, but it is better to go a little bit slower, but keep your routine constant.

3.  As you get more confident, add youtube videos and graphics to your blog. These add colour and value to your posts, and will lead to more traffic.

 4.  Join Onlywire.com and the social directories in it. Once you have done this, you can quickly bookmark your blog posts with just one click. This is a very important time saving feature, and also is important for getting backlinks and traffic to your blog.

By getting into a routine, you can add content to your blog on a consistent basis, spending less than 30 minutes of your time three times a week. If you do that, you will be amazed at the results you can achieve.

As a general rule, the more one way backlinks you have to your website, the higher your ranking with search engines. To get these backlinks you need to have your website URL on another site.

So how can you increase the number of backlinks you have, increasing the volume of traffic to your website every day?

1.  A great way to increase backlinks is to write and submit articles to article directories online, including your URL in a resource box at the end of each article.

2. Write blog articles and submit them to social directories. This is known as bookmarking a blog post, and is a valuable way to get a backlink pointing back to your blog.  Social directories love these as well as search engines.

3. Post comments in other people’s blogs.  Only post comments in blogs that allow you to include a link back to your blog or website.

4. Take part in online discussion forums. Include a signature file that contains a hyperlinked keyword phrase back to your website. These posts in discussion forums can stay online, giving you backlinks for years to come.

5. Trade links with other websites and use reciprocal linking. You can speed the process up by joining a reciprocal linking company, connecting you with hundreds of link partners willing to trade.

6. Purchase ads in ezines that are archived on the Internet. These archived issues can serve as backlinks when your ad is published in it. 

7. Send out a press release every time your Internet business has something new to offer. Include a one way backlink in your press releases, and that can bring traffic both immediately and in the future.

8. Purchase text links ads on other people’s blogs. If you get on a blog sidebar, your link can end up on thousands of pages giving you massive exposure with one link.

9. If you are invited to write testimonials for a product launch, do it. These testimonials can give you valuable backlinks and traffic as people read the sales page over and over.

These are just some basic ideas to help you increase one way backlinks to your websites. There are many more you could consider, so make sure to do extensive research on the subject, and learn from those people more experienced than you.
