The internet is a tremendous tool to use when marketing and promoting any business you have. It enables you to open up a channel of communication with other people, and exchange ideas and concepts that may not normally be encountered. One of the best ways to take advantage of this incredible power is to design and operate a business opportunities blog. It gives you the opportunity to set down in writing what you can offer to potential customers, whether it may be fresh ideas and techniques, or perhaps you can supply seed capital to develop other people's good ideas. By using a blog you get to put your concepts in the path of millions of potential partners or customers worldwide. Maybe you have some amazing ideas that you want to apply in the business world. If this is the case, a work from home business blog should be just what is required. Using your blog will have several benefits. First, it should give you the chance to come in contact with other business owners who have some capital to invest, but are currently short of ideas to act on, and may be interested in doing a joint venture with you. Secondly, the very act of writing down your ideas in the blog will often aid in the development and formulation of more advanced strategies over time. Once you have posted your thoughts and ideas on your blog, you will often find that friends and colleagues will share more information with you, having received inspiration from your written word. Of course, they may also offer criticism and find fault with your thinking. Provided you can take this feedback and analyse it carefully, this can be a very positive process, and greatly aid in moving your business forward. You can then use more private methods to take things further. Another way a work from home business blog may be useful is when you are the person who is able to provide services or start capital to others who are in the early stage of developing their own business. If you have already established a successful track record in dealing with other people, use your blog to let other people know about your past success. Again, it now becomes a free form of advertising. No matter what stage of development your business is at, a good blog post can attract like minded people to your business or project, and greatly increase your chances of success. So in essence, your work from home business blog is an everchanging method of promoting your services, unlike a standard website which often is largely static over the short term. Where ever you are in the process of developing your work idea and bringing it to market for your work from home business, getting your name out there and attracting attention is the only way to get things done. Your blog offers you the chance to add fresh content daily, thereby providing more food to search engines to feed off. You can gain both a higher search engine ranking, while at the same time build ongoing relationships with customers and business partners that will continue to pay off for a long time to come.

One of the main advantages of owning your own work from home business is the fact that you have no need for expensive office or warehouse space. However, the downside is that you now have no physical shopfront to flaunt your wares. Instead, you need to find other methods to let potential customers know about the services you provide. If your work from home business deals mainly with a service that you provide, then you may not need an online presence. If your business involves the provision of products as well as services, then a well designed website is vital to the success of your operation, as this will become you virtual shop window. Like a traditional store front, it will be what attracts potential customers, drawing their interest during those crucial few seconds before they click away to another site. The website becomes a permanent reference point that people can come back to again and again to find out more about your company and what you offer. Unlike a conventional businesss, it has no closing hours, and so you now have the potential to interact with people in different timezones, and in different countries. This can dramatically increase the scale of your operation. Taking this into consideration, as the owner of a work from home business you should carefully consider which style of website will be best suited for your needs. There are a wide variety of options available to a new entrepeneur, and you should take your time to assess your options. Effective website design requires some skill, and initially you may be best advised to hire in expertise in this area if you are unsure of what to do. Having said that, there are many website design services available which do not require you to spend thousands on expert help. They will, however, need you to set aside some time to master the skills necessary to build a site, and then apply these new skills to create the best website for your new business. Some key features to consider in the design of your website would include: 1 Ease of use. People will lose patience with your business very quickly if the site is hard to navigate. Keep the layout simple, and ensure that your customer understands at all times what they need to do to move through the buying process. A frustrated surfer will never translate into a loyal customer. 2 Create a strong brand awareness. People remember those business's that have a strong brand or image. This may typically be a slogan or logo. Make it obvious to anyone entering site by placing it in a prominent position at the top of the home page. 3 Let your customers see what you offer by showcasing your business. They need to be made aware of your products offered, have access to more detailed information, and informed of how you provide a superior service when compared to your competitors. You should leave nothing to chance. As the owner of a work from home business, you need to create a professional image to be taken seriously in the market place. Just as in a traditional business, the standards you set initially will determine your success down the road. A well designed, professional looking website will give your home business a tremendous boost, and propel you along the path to success. It will remain your main communication point with your customers for years to come.

Many of us use Search engines on a daily basis to improve our effectiveness online. However, a surprising number of people have only a basic knowledge of their operation. They can be very powerful and focused, so to assist you I have a list of some available functions. Basic Operators Quotes OR AND NOT seperated words synonyms definitions + Advanced Operatorsallintext/intext allintitle/intitle allinanchor/inanchor allinurl/inurl info related link site ... safesearch cache date filetype stocks Calculator OperatorsSubtraction Addition Division Multiplication Percentage sqrt() Raise to the power Conversion Basic operatorsQuotes By wrapping a search term in quotation marks, such as "online search tools", it will return pages containing that exact phrase. OR Putting OR between words will bring up pages holding any of the words. AND This is the default method of searching, if you put in two words it will search for the first word AND the second word within a document. NOT The not operator is written like this: alan -thomas in the example above the results will return all pages that hold the word alan without the word thomas in them (so this page will not appear in the SERPs). Separated words e.g. Alan * Thomas This will bring up pages that hold the words Alan and Thomas seperated by one or more words. Synonyms This is very handy. If you search for ~quiz then it will return pages that contain the word quiz or its synonyms eg. games and tests. Definitions e.g. define:sic This will bring back definitions of the word found on the web with links to the pages defining them and related phrases. + As a default search engines will to ignore noise words such as it,I,and etc. If you need to explicitly search for these terms use the + operator e.g. george +it Advanced operator Searchesallintext/intext: This will bring up pages that have the terms in the body text of the page, but not in the title or URL. using intext: will return results for pages which have the next term in the body text of the page, but not in the URL or title and subsequent terms anywhere in the document. allintitle/intitle: using allintitle: before a search e.g. allintitle: search engine optinization This will return pages with the search terms in the title of the page. If you combine this with quotations you will discover pages that are directly targeting your keywords eg. allintitle: "search engine optimization" using intitle: will return results for pages which have the next term in the title and subsequent terms anywhere in the document. allinanchor/inanchor This will bring up pages that have the terms in the link anchor text. using inanchor: will return results for pages which have the next term in anchor text and subsequent terms anywhere in the document. allinurl/inurl: Another good SEO research tool for competitors is allinurl. This search works in the same way as allintitle, however it brings up pages with the terms in the URL of the page. using inurl: will return results for pages which have the next term in the URL and subsequent terms anywhere in the document. info: info:alexa.com will give info about alexa.com related: related:alexa.com returns a list of related pages (i.e. if you use the above example you get a list of search tools) link: e.g. link:apteambuild.com.org Will return pages that are linked to a site. This is largely useless in Google as it tends to return a small sample of results. You may prefer to use Yahoo! Site Explorer as it is a much more powerful research tool. The link operator comes in handy in combination with the site operator. for example link:seomoz.org site:.edu This will return a sample of the results that shows which sites with a .edu domain are linking to seomoz.org It can be useful if you are looking for possible quality link opportunities, as you will see that some edu domains are linking to competitors. site: e.g. site:apteambuild.com seo site: only returns results from one website. So the above example searches this website for the term seo and returns pages only from this site. safesearch: typing safesearch: before a search will return filtered results removing all adult content. This would only be needed if you already have safesearch switched off in your profile. cache: This allows you to search a page's cache for terms e.g. cache:www.apteambuild.com seo will highlight any instances of seo within the cached homepage of this site. date: you can search for pages that have been created within the last 3, 6, or 12 months e.g. pear date:6 will return pages created within the last 6 months for the term pear. filetype: The filetype operator brings back documents of certain filetypes only e.g. stats filetype:pdf stocks: The stocks operator will treat your search term as a stock ticker symbol and will return financial information e.g. stocks:GOOG Calculator OperatorsIts also possible to use Google as a calculator. Subtraction e.g. 59 - 23 Addition e.g. 38 + 25 Division e.g. 64 / 14 Multiplication e.g. 21 * 12 Percentage e.g. 26% of 82 sqrt() returns the square root of any number within the parenthesis eg. sqrt(4) Raise to the power e.g 3^9 3 to the power of 9 conversion e.g. 1 inch in cm In conclusion, most people have only scratched the surface of Search's potential. This is by no means the definitive guide to Search, but I hope it has got you thinking.

To increase your website's ranking with search engines, it is very important to use keywords you have chosen in the title of the page concerned. A title tag is of course not the same as a meta description or keyword tag, but it is still a very important factor to consider in the overall optimization of your web page. Any text you insert in your title tag will be viewed in the title bar of browsers at the time they visit your site. To take advantage of this, plan your keywords and theme carefully. You may also find that some browsers will add their own name as an appendage to your own text. As one of the most important deciding factors in how search engines chose to rank your page is the actual text you have placed in the title tag, spend time and thought over your choice of words. The major web spiders will normally use the text of your title tag as the text that is used for the title given to your site in the listings. This text will act in much the same way as a newspaper headline, and draw your prospective client to look at your site, while also setting the theme and topic. Consider also that if your site has been constructed as a series of sites, or linked pages, then you will need to apply these search engine optimization techniques to each page individually. The keywords used in the text of each page title will be the magnet that draws traffic to the site. You should ensure that you avoid the use of stop words such as "at", "and" and similar in the crucial first three positions for keywords. Care taken here will dramatically increase your results in the rankings. Your choice of text should be aimed at producing a unique combination of your chosen keywords, phrases, and content. Ensure that you capture every keyword or phrases you need to highlight for each service, product, or information page. It is always important to strike a balance between including sufficient keywords in your text, and at the same time avoiding becoming a keyword spammer, which will have a detrimental effect on your page rankings. A key mistake often made by inexperienced business owners when designing their initial website is to use their firm's name, or business name, in the title of each page. Most potential clients will have never heard of your company before they come to your site, so the chances of them using your company name as a search word are remote. It is a very good idea to have your business name in the title of your home page, but after that it may well be a waste of important space and keywords to include it on each individual page on the website. By using your chosen important keywords instead, you will find your site will be displayed nearer to the top listings on the search engines. Search engine optimization is a constantly developing art, and it is important to get advice from people with proven results, rather than waste your time, money, and energy making avoidable mistakes. A little good advice can save a lot of anguish at a later date.

Does this sound like a good idea to you? Well, it certainly does to me, which is why I checked out a site called Qassia when I heard about it. It seems to offer very special benefits to all webmasters. Using Qassia gives you the facility to add any websites you like, at no cost, and you don't have to add any reciprocal backlinks. In return you can get any number of quality backlinks, unlike " no follow " links which are useless to you. You have the option to add information to the site, know here as intel, which is an abreviation of intellegence. You can add small pieces of intel, and you will be rewarded for the quantity and quality of the intel submitted. You benefit in three ways: 1 Credit : Each time you add some intel you recieve credit. This comes in the form of "Qassia dollars". Your ranking in their directory is determined by your net worth in Qassia dollars. 2 Revenue : When your intel is displayed, you will recieve 100% of the advertising income which is generated by that page. Yes, that's right, you get ALL of the gross advertising revenue. 3 Backlinks : Each time you add some intel, you will recieve a new backlink direct to one of your sites, meaning that the more intel you submit, the greater the number of backlinks you generate. As the owner of a website, you now have a triple incentive to add fresh intel to Qassia. As the intel builds up, it will enable Qassia to become a huge store of information, with unique, original content. Of course, this factor will draw huge amounts of trafic to the site. Sounds like a good deal? Take a look at QUASSIA now! http://viralurl.com/paula/qassia2

How To Boost Your Success With Article Marketing If you wish to succeed in business online, one of the major areas in which you should develop your skills is that of article marketing. If you ignore this aspect of marketing, you are missing out on an amazingly effecient tool. It is a relatively simple concept, but like all things, there are do's and dont's when it comes to putting the concept to use. The general idea is based around the production of an article which contains information on and references to the product and business in which you are involved. For your guidance, there follows some general principles to guide you in this area, and help you to produce more effective article marketing....simple, but effective. 1. As a starting point, think of the qualities and features of the product or service you have chosen to promote. What are its physical properties such as color, taste or feel? How might it be combined with other products to produce a good, positive feeling with your potential customer. By thinking through this process, you will develop a basis on which to start to structure your article, using these feelings on your product to paint a pleasant picture in your clients mind. They will then develop a sound understanding and feel for the product without having to handle or buy it initially. 2. Following on from this, the article's content will need to be relevant to your product or service in a tangible way. A mistake often made is to produce a wonderful article, which has very little relevance to your target product, and as a result does little to boost your customers awareness of your service. Keep your article on topic. 3. Be careful to avoid letting your article becoming a hyped up sales letter. Your customers will see through this at an early stage, and their attention will be lost quickly. Perhaps more importantly, you will loose credability in the process. The great skill in article marketing is to include your subtle sales pitch in amongst a well written article of general interest. 4. Perhaps the most important point to remember is that the article content must be very well written. For most people, this will mean that it may be best to outsource the writing of the article to an expert. You should provide the outline of what you want in terms of content and article length. Request a sample of the writers previous work to judge their skill level. In particular, check for their accuracy in terms of grammar and punctuation. 5. Once you have completed a top rate article, you need to get it out into the public arena. Here you can utilise methods such as posting it on forums, sending to sites inviting submission of articles, and possibly sending it out as part of any newsletters you have access to. You need to strike a careful balance between spaming a site or abusing your email leads, while at the same time getting your quality article to the attention of as many of your potential customers as possible. Once you have followed these steps once, it then becomes a matter of repeating them again. The more you produce, the more results you will get. Each time, provide new insights, and always keep the content fresh. By doing this on an ongoing basis, you will be amazed at the results you achieve.

Here is an excerpt from Dustin Cannon's site I saw today. The Opportunity Before You Building Traffic Equity With The PIPS Co-op *Exclusive* Stone Evans Interview Podcast The Opportunity Before You This morning I stopped at the local convenience store after dropping my kids off at daycare. I often stop there to buy a USA Today and a diet coke before heading back to my home office. This morning I noticed someone sitting in their car with a huge stack of instant lottery tickets scratching away like crazy. I thought to myself how sad and wondered how much money they had wasted on those tickets in the last year. I almost felt obligated to share the Plug In Profit Site system with them because no doubt if they invested as much money and effort into a business opportunity as they do on scratch off lottery tickets they would be much better off. The Plug In Profit Site business has provided us with the opportunity to achieve at levels that many only dream about. Regardless of where you come from or where you are starting Plug In Profit Site offers the place you know from day one you are allowed to build an income for today while securing wealth for your future. In this business I meet many people in this industry and have had the privilege of talking with some of the biggest names in the home business industry. I have noticed something about those who have achieved fantastic success. I am talking $30,000, $50,000 or even $100,000 per month. There is one thing that is the same about all of these people. You will notice that they all are relentless in their pursuit of their goals in every area of life. They don’t stop until they succeed. Period. And it is not that they possess some special secret system. In fact, many failed many times before they made it but they were committed to making it and persisted until they did. Nothing worthwhile has ever been earned without a fight. If you want success in this business decide right now that you will do what it takes and be committed to making it happen. To be relentless in your pursuit of success and I know you will be one of those superstars in the very near future. The Co-op Gives You An Amazing Opportunity For Building Traffic Equity For Long Term Success In reviewing our article marketing processes for both the co-op rotation but also for our member’s individually I was reminded how important article marketing is for long term success of your business. If you think about it every time you publish an article on the Internet it is like building equity in a home whereas paying for one time advertising is more like renting an apartment. With a home you are buying something that you own and will continue to serve you for a lifetime as opposed to rent. When you stop paying rent you stop getting the benefit. When you stop paying for advertising you stop getting traffic. Every article you publish through the co-op submission service could potentially send you thousands of visitors to your site and continue to do so years after you are no longer a co-op member. 658,812 Views Of Your Content And 32,940 Clicks I recently reviewed the stats for one article submitted by an online marketer on 6/7/2007. That article has been viewed 7,843 times in less than a year and this was from 1 article site only. Wow. Imagine if you had submitted 7 articles per month through the co-op. That would be 84 articles per year and 658,812 views of your content over the course of a year and probably growing each year. Let’s says that only 5 percent clicked through that would be 32,940 clicks. Do you know it could cost a minimum of $16,470 to get 32,940 clicks using Pay Per Click advertising and that is at 50 cents per click. Most pay much more. Now, let’s say for example, you are an annual member of the co-op who paid $699.99 or (which equals only $58.33 per month) that is 32,940 clicks through to YOUR sales page for only $699.99 for JUST the articles you submitted NOT INCLUDING all of the advertising, social networking using your video and blogging using the 30 private label articles. If you are not yet submitting articles through the co-op submission service then start building traffic equity today. If one of your articles even comes close to the example above – wow - you talk about a positive return on your investment. Coming This Month *Exclusive* Stone Evans Interview Podcast Later this month you will be able to listen to an exclusive interview with Stone Evans. As you know, an interview with Stone Evans is very rare and therefore I encourage you to check it out. The impact on your business of what Stone has to share will be priceless. We will send an email letting you know when it is ready and available. Thank you. Dustin Cannon

A key catch phrase used when describing internet income is income stream. This phrase describes the source of income for an online company or an individual working different online jobs, none of which will probably pay all of their bills. Unlike more traditional jobs, where the employee works in one place for several years, and has only one income stream from their paycheck, someone working multiple part-time positions online can have as many as 50 to 100 different income streams flowing into their bank account. Many online business's use affiliate marketing to develop an income, with perhaps a dozen or more online companies having advertisements on their website. When one of these companies makes a sale to a customer who was referred by the site, the site owner receives a sales commission. Each affiliated company on the website is able to generate an income stream for that website. If the site owner has a highly popular site that is attractive to advertisers, they may add also another income stream in the form of advertising revenue. One of the problems with affiliate marketing income is that it is rarely constant. Different companies offer different types of merchandise and services for sale, and if the offerings do not meet the needs or wants of the site's visitors, there is little chance of sales being made. The site owners will need to carefuly monitor the production of every affiliated ad on their site, and only include the most productive companies over the long term. The types of ads used on the website can also influence the customer response. While some customers may respond well to bright, colorful flashy advertisements, others may prefer simple text based ads. Depending on the product being promoted, and the type visitor attracted to the site, the ads will need to focus on their interests, in order to be effective at producing an income stream. A business that has several income streams is often a budgeting nightmare for the new home business owner. They may have spent years knowing which day of the week their paycheck was going to arrive, and how much it was going to be worth. With several different streams of money arriving at different times of the week or month, many of these owners have a tough time budgeting their income. Their income level may be the same as their prior job, or even higher through their online business, but instead of having a lump sum arriving on Friday, it may be split into four unequal payments arriving on four different days of the week. If they fail to plan carefully for this change in income, they will have trouble budgeting their income streams to last until the next stream flows by. It is also important not to count on only one or two income streams to meet the financial needs of the online business. If there are only two streams feeding to business account, and one of those streams begins to run slower or dries up, the owner will be scrambling to find replacement cash. However, by having as many income streams as can be accurately managed flowing in, the owner can easily survive one or more streams being reduced on their way to financial success.

Do you have what it takes to be an e-entrepreneur?Copyright © Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy Author of "Dotcomology - The Science of Making Money Online"These days, it seems like everyone wants to work from home and make money on the Internet. But before you even turn on your computer, the first question you have to ask yourself is whether you're cut out for this kind of work. The fact is, building a home-based business isn't for everyone. Some people like the commute. They really do enjoy having a boss who tells them what to do, and they like the routine of working nine-to-five for an ordinary salary that can barely pay the mortgage. Personally, I think they're nuts. More reasonably, there are people who are concerned about the risk of starting up their own business. They're not sure it's worth the investment of time and money, and they're scared of the responsibility that comes with running their own company. They wonder if there is another way to escape the rat race. I'm sure there is. You could win the lottery or wait for your Aunt Sue to keel over and leave you her condo. Or maybe you could sit down with a pen and paper and draw the blueprint for "The Next Big Thing". Anything can happen... Right? For me, what happened was creating a successful, self-running Internet marketing system. It didn't happen without effort. It didn't happen without at least some initial investment of both time and money and, of course, it doesn't happen now without me making sure that the taxes are filed and the paperwork is done. But it happened. I'm my own boss. I work from home according to my own schedule and I get to pocket all the cash my business makes. If you're prepared to give an e-business the time, the work and the money it needs to get started and get growing, it can happen for you too. As the internet has developed over time, many more companies have come to realise the vital importance of having an effective online presence. Whereas only a few short years ago it was a novelty to have your own website, it has gotten to the stage where in many cases it would be business insanity not to have one. One of the key advantages in having your own website is that, unlike a conventional advertising or catalogue based promotional system, you can provide ongoing information on your products and services at minimal cost. In fact, as more customers utilise your website, the unit cost per customer is reducing. For example, once you have your site up and running, it will cost you the same whether you have 500 visitors or 5,000 visitors per day. The more useful information you can provide to your customers, the greater the chances they will buy from you, and return as repeat clients. Remember, you will need to anticipate the most likely questions your customers may have, and give them the required answers before they even think of contacting you. The attention span of the average visitor to your site is very short, and few people will have the time or inclination to ask relevant questions when they know they can find the answers elsewhere at the click of a button. Your aim should be to make your site user-friendly, to keep your prospects attention long enough to enable you to make a lasting impression on them. Even though most will leave without making a purchase, if they feel that you have something to offer, you will have a good chance of making a future sale. Having gone to the trouble of driving traffic to your site, your aim should be to capture their contact details, perhaps by offering to send them a free update, newsletter, or report relevant to their own interests. People will be more likely to buy from you if they develop a relationship with you. This is often ignored in the rush to create an online selling machine. Let them know about the history of your company, and the personality of the people behind it. Create this trust, and you will reap the benefit many times in the future. Of course, while your site should be primarily user-friendly, if you want it to get large traffic volumes organically, you will also need to design it in such a way as to make it search engine friendly. This area of Search Engine Optimisation, or SEO for short, is too large an area to cover in this short article. Seek out advice from people who have previous success in this field. Don't be afraid to ask for advice, as it is an area that is essential to ensuring the success of your site. So even if you start from the point of zero knowledge, by learning from the experts, you can in time become an authority on the subject yourself. Does every business need an internet presence? Well, maybe not all, but it is hard to imagine one that would be harmed by a website! For the vast majority, it is essential to enable them to move on to the next stage, to go beyond the point where all their customers are locals, and tap in to the vast reservoir of opportunity out there in cyberspace. Remember, the old adage still holds true - if you offer a superior service, and let people know about this superior service, people will flock to you. Your website, properly designed, really is the best means to let people know exactly what it is you offer. It may require that you develop some new skills, but this is a small price to pay when compared with the potential rewards.
