I've been learning to use my new Joomla! site, and starting to customise my PIPS 2.0 webpages. It is currently a work in progress and it has definitely been a sharp learning curve. Having said that, Joomla is one of best free content management systems around and it is the easiest to use. It is also ideal for creating a community site which you can use to build a PIPS business. It gives webmasters the ability to add and edit any content on the site they wish without having to know any html, and has enabled me to take all of the content from the PIPS mega site upgrade and add it to a Joomla theme. Of course I've been getting a lot of help from Mike Law on www.onlineworkfromhomejobs.net , so thanks for all your help Mike and his crew. When begining your new home business, you need to draw up plans to help you get started. Without such plans you will go nowhere, or you will go in around in circles achieving little. So in order to start your business off on the right track, you should come up with a suitable business plan, a marketing plan and a home life plan.
Your business plan is a vital item that will be needed when applying for loans, hiring good employees, for any business affiliates, and your personal goal setting. You need to have information such as the name of your business and what the mission statement for your business is. Which product or service do you offer, and who is it being targeted at? Who is your ideal customer base? How much will it cost to produce your products, and how much can you sell them for? What do you hope your end profit will be? These are key pieces of information which are needed, particularly if you require start up funds. These may be money provided by a bank loan or a business partner who is willing to become a financial backer of your venture. It is important to create a binder or portfolio for your business plan, and make copies accessible for times when they may be required.
Part of your business plan should include a marketing plan, or advertising campaign. How do you plan to provide the general public with information about your business, product or service? Will it be by renting a billboard, running newspaper advertisements, magazine ads, television, radio and so on? Will you have a good website, or be running Internet ads such as those sponsored by Google Adsense or Microsoft Adcenter? How much will each advertisement media cost? Have you put in place the funding for these advertising efforts, or will you need to source outside funds? Once again, this shows any outside parties that you have done the necessary research to enable you to plan how to reach the consumer public for optimum sales. You may also want to include the percentages or charts that show success achieved by similar advertising campaigns, and how well your marketing choices will relate to your new business.
Lastly, a home plan is for the benefit of both you and your family during the period when your business is taking shape. You will need to be realistic and realise that any business does not become an over night success. Time, money and effort are required before you will start to see a solid flow of income flowing through your home business. Be aware of your household budget each week and month, and make sure that you have at a very minimum three months savings in reserve to cater for household expenses, including food, utilities, gas, hygiene items etc. This enables you to use other sources of money in your business without encountering monetary stress in your home life.
Often it will be sensible to keep a part time position with your current employer, or somewhere else. Of course, if your spouse works at present this may not be needed. The precise plan for your household may well differ depending on the specific needs of your family. As ever, the key is preparation when it comes to making a success of your business start up, as it is in setting up a successful home life. Once these are in place, you are set up for a smooth transition from an regular job to your new home based career.

Are you losing good employees to the work at home market? This is something that many employers struggle with because they have found that people enjoy working from home. They are able to spend time with their families and do the things around the house that need to be done. Also, they can usually get much more done during the day by working from home than they would be able to do by working for you in your office. Therefore, you might have found that many of your employees leave what they are doing for you in order to work from home. You are then left with a bunch of people who aren't very good and who are not able to do the work that you had with your good employees. There are several things that you can do about this. First of all, you can help your employees by allowing them to keep working for you, but do most of it from home. Remember that if you can work out a system where your employees are allowed to do some or all of their work from home, they will probably be happier and better able to do the work that needs to be done at the office. If you allow your employees to do what they can do at home, without having to worry about taking a dock in pay for it, you are going to find that you will have much better employees. This means that you will be able to take advantage of the morale that your employees have, and you will also be able to make them much happier with you and much happier in their lives in general. Allowing your employees to do what they can do at home will mean that when they are working in your office they are less likely to be bored or frustrated or burnt out. If you can have them come in several times a week for meetings or to do what they need to do, you will find that they are better able to have the morale that you need for your business. Boosting morale is always a better way to get things done, rather than trying to drive your employees to work harder than they want to work. If you can make them happier with their lives by allowing them to have some time to work at home during the week you will find that they are actually going to produce more for you ,and be happier with the business overall. This might be the best way that you have to keep the good employees you have and attract new employees.

Neglecting to include an opt-in link to your mailing list or email newsletter subscription database may well be the most serious of the 10 deadly sins of an affiliate marketing article. Putting together a business plan can be a time-consuming effort in futility if you forget the main ingredient of the plan. Execution is the principal means behind any valued plan, describing who will do what, when and how to allow the plan to be followed completely. On the other hand, any business can be planned to death, meaning entirely too much time is spent on putting a plan on paper and never putting it into action. Even a great business plan is useless unless a timeline is attached to every step of the plan to put it into motion and follow through on making it work. Another example is in assigning tasks to a group under the supervision of one person. By sitting down with that person and discussing the project, it can be agreed as to what tools will be needed to get the job done, how many people will be required to complete it in a specified time frame and at what cost. By enlisting the help of the individual in charge in putting the plan together, that person has a vested interest in making sure it is done on time and within budget. Once the plan is on paper and put into action, there has to be a certain amount of follow-up to ensure the project is going as planned, and if any adjustments are needed they can be made before it is too late. After the first few days, the supervisor can be asked about the project and if everything looks good and they claim everything is going according to plan and is on schedule, it probably is. If they hedge about being able to get it done on time, and admit there have been underestimates made about how long it will take, they can have input on what else is needed to remain on schedule. If the supervisor continues to express optimism about being able to get done on time, and the owner sees that it is becoming more obvious it is not going to happen, they may need to reassess their choice of the person in charge, and hold them accountable for not being on schedule. With their buy-in from the beginning as part of the planning stage and their help in determining what is needed, they cannot pass blame back to the business owner for not giving them what they need to get the job done. It would be their failure to execute the plan and to make it work, and they should be held responsible.

For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money

affiliate programs. Just get online and do some research and you'll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you'll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it's getting easier and easier to make money online with affiliate programs.
I've always said that "affiliate marketing" is the job of the future. In the "old" days, you had to go to a potential employer,
apply for the position and hope for the best. Now you can simply go to any company you want, fill out their affiliate application and start work immediately. Affiliates are the new working class. Believe me, making money with affiliate programs or making your living on the Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is the "job" of the future that's already here TODAY.

You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP. Ready, FIRE, then aim... This is the operating philosophy you MUST adopt to succeed with affiliate marketing. That's backwards for most people who like to aim before they fire. The fact is the Internet is a moving target... The only thing constant about it is change. You need to stop analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can't learn from the outside... You have to be IN THE RING to truly understand it.
The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to start an affiliate marketing business. You simply have to start one.
